Palm Paradise”, Hollywood, FL, oil, 24x24”

My clients were regular readers of my newsletter and noticed a painting that really spoke to them. It was a small version of this scene. This thoughtful client later commissioned a larger version as a Christmas gift for his wife.

She was delighted with the gift and they are both enjoying their scene of a palms, boats and an inviting get-away home.

Pier People Watching, St. Petersburg, FL oil, 40 x 50”

My client is a businessman who wanted a painting of the new St. Pete Pier to be a feature point in his office. I combined many photos to create this scene that highlights the Pier’s striking architecture and the way it creates an urban experience enjoyed by all.

“Golf Paradise”, St. Petersburg, FL, oil, 12 x 24 inches, ©Linda Hugues

My client wanted a painting of his favorite local golf course which has a fantastic view toward Tampa Bay. I took a series of shots of him and his buddy on a sunny morning on their favorite hole. When I painted the figures, I paid special attention to my client’s posture and form because I wanted to make him recognizable even though his face is in shadow.

He and his wife are thrilled with the painting.

“Fall Vacation” Paris, France, oil, 30 x 30 inches, ©Linda Hugues

My clients love to visit Paris in November, when the weather is cool and they have the city to themselves. This painting is based on a photo they took at the Square du Temple, a charming park with a lake surrounded by gardens. The painting evokes a crisp fall day with its cool light and warm colors, and it shows them enjoying being together in their favorite city.

My clients said, “ We love the painting and will cherish having it. We always love to buy paintings to remind us of where we’ve been on our travels. This one is extra special because it was such a wonderful time for us. I love so many of your paintings, it’s hard to choose sometimes!”

My clients saw my work at the Mainsail Art Festival one year, and especially liked a landscape I had done of the Vinoy Hotel. They often walked their beloved King Charles Cavalier though the nearby park, and felt that that scene would make the perfect painting for their home.

We did a relaxed photo shoot one weekend, taking many shots to produce a natural-looking photo withe a stunning background.

My clients said, “We feel fortunate that we had the opportunity to work with Linda. She provided great insight and advice on the goal to capture our “slice of life” in St. Petersburg, through art. The result – the painting – achieves that goal, exceeding expectations. It is proudly displayed in our home. Great work, Linda! and thanks!”

My client is a fashionista who who loves Paris and has visited several times. She asked me for a painting of shoppers in front of a Chanel store. I happened to be on my way to Paris, so I was able to photograph this elegant Chanel shop with its classical details, arches, and crisp black widow grills. I included a few chic shoppers to complete the narrative.

My client said, “My painting arrived this morning. I am so excited to own a LInda Hugues painting! Some day I hope to own a bigger one. I love it, my husband likes it (which is amazing!!) and I will keep your lovely note on the back of it for all to read. I will enjoy following you as the years go on.”
